Northeast Ohio has a wealth of beautiful hiking trails! This includes a variety of different trails for people of all skill levels. The Black River Reservation in Elyria has a paved Steel Mill Trail that crosses the Black River and French Creek. It offers an array of stunning views of nature and the steel mill. The trail connects to the well-traveled Bridgeway Trail.
In Rocky River, the Cleveland Metroparks Scenic Park Loop Trail is part of the Rocky River Reservation. The trail is mostly flat, so even inexperienced hikers can enjoy the trail. If you're in the mood for a picnic, there is a picnic table area located just off of the hiking trail.
In Berea, the Berea Falls in the Rocky River Reservation is the lasting remains of a glacier. This post-glacial river flows directly into the falls. Sandstone cliffs and green meadows flank the series of small waterfalls. You can find these falls on the east branch of the park along with many other activities such as kayaking, hiking, and spots for a picnic.
Off of the shores of Lake Erie and west of downtown is The Huntington Reservation Trail, one of Cleveland's best trails. Many visit Huntington Beach in the summer, they can also hike on the trails next to the beach. There are beautiful views of the lake, and Cleveland's skyline.
